How does it work?

This is a personalised writing activity so you don't need to take part at a certain time or in a group. If you would like to, you can embark on the discovery trail with friends, figuring out clues and directions together, however the writing tasks themselves are designed as individual activities. In this way the task has been designed to be just as entertaining when undertaken by yourself. After all writing is often a solo activity. In fact you might even come up with more ideas when working at your own pace.
The trail works like this. Clues and writing prompts will be hidden around the city in the form of QR codes, so you will need a Smartphone that has a QR code reader app. If you're interested in taking part, you will receive information on where to download one of these free apps, information on how to use it and a sample QR code clue.
Once you have signed up for the discovery trail, you will receive a short checklist to complete on a computer near you. You will also receive your first real clue, which will send you out into the city to commence your idea generation hunt. From here on in, each of the clues will set you a writing task and give you a clue and a Google Map link to the next destination.
The work you do does not need to be shared with anyone so you have free reign to let ideas run wild.
